Queen of Hearts

Last weekend, we created a custom Queen of Hearts cake for an extravagant Alice in Wonderland birthday party!

Here she is, a work in progress, before her hair was added.
You can see that her skirt itself was the actual cake.

Here, Amy is pinning up her hair, as she is almost complete.
If you look closely at the gold part of her skirt, you can
see the imprinted pattern we added to the rolled chocolate,
to add texture to the skirt and make it look more luxurious.

Notice the ribbing and tiny hearts on her corset.
Her crown, face and torso were hand sculpted out of rolled chocolate.

And here she is complete, on display at the birthday party!
All the gold you see is hand painted and the applique
hearts on her skirt were individually cut and added by hand.
