Adidas shoe stepping into a Happy New Year!

Black & White

The classic color combination of black & white is simply elegant and can coordinate with just about any theme or color scheme.
 This cake features our scrolling lace design in black and a black rolled chocolate bow on top.

 
This cake also features our scrolling lace design in black, but is finished with a top bouquet of white rolled chocolate roses and black accent flowers.

MOVING!

As of January 1st, we are MOVING to Westwood! 

In order to reduce the amount of product we have to move over to our new location, many things will be discounted in the store this week! Please stop by to pick up something sweet, and ring in the New Year at unbelievable prices!

December 28th, 29th and 30th - 9am-6pm
December 31st - 9am-4pm

At 4pm on December 31st, our doors will close at our Norwood location for the last time. January 1st, we will start 2011 fresh by beginning our move to 302 Providence Highway in Westwood. We hope to have the doors open to the public in Westwood by January 15th, but please check our website for the exact re-opening date as the time approaches!

Penguins

Today for Featured Friday, we're wishing you all a very Merry Christmas with a winter wonderland, penguin cake!
This custom cake features blue buttercream frosting, white buttercream icicles, snowflakes & and snow tufts, and hand-sculpted penguins made out of rolled chocolate! It even has a little matching mini cake!

We are open 9am-4pm today, so stop by and pick up a delicious dessert for your Christmas celebrations! We will be closed Saturday the 25th, Sunday the 26th and Monday the 27th.

Winter

Since it's now officially winter, we thought this wedding cake was the perfect fit for this week's post.

The cake was frosted in vanilla buttercream and had our snowflake, triple dot and champagne dot designs on 3 different tiers. Some rolled chocolate branches and white chocolate shavings decorated the tiers, and a custom, rolled chocolate snow couple sat on top.

Christmas Orders!

Tomorrow is the last day to place your Christmas orders and guarantee your selections for pick-up on Friday, December 24th. We are open until 2pm today, and we will also be open from 9am-4pm tomorrow, so call or stop by and get your order in! Yes, we will be open tomorrow, Monday, December 20th from 9am-4pm! We are usually closed on Mondays, but in order to accommodate an already busy week for most people, we will be open for you!

If you miss the deadline and don't get an order in, don't worry! There will be a selection of cakes, pastries, cookies and other holiday desserts available for purchase in our retail store on the 24th as well! We just can't guarantee how long they'll last because we will sell out!

Dark Chocolate Buche Noel
A traditional holiday favorite “Yule Log.” Classic chocolate mousse cake rolled & decorated with chocolate buttercream, meringue mushrooms, candy holly berries & leaves. Dusted in sugar snow. 2 sizes available:

Vanilla genoise cake brushed with espresso & rum and filled with sweetened mascarpone cream. Decorated with chocolate shavings & fresh whipped cream.

Mum’s English Trifle Cake 6” (serves 4-6) $22, 8” (serves 8-10) $30
Kids & adults alike will enjoy this festive and fruity dessert. A spin on my Mum’s traditional recipe. Light sponge cake layered with seedless raspberry preserves line the outside of a cake that is layered with peaches, strawberries and pears barely set in berry jello, topped with vanilla custard, fresh whipped cream & chocolate shavings.

This delicious, tender gingerbread cake is filled with a light & fluffy cream cheese filling, and then rolled to create the roulade. Garnished with fresh whipped cream and confectioner’s sugar.

Dots, Diamonds, Stripes & Shooting Stars

Jared's Mitzvah cake incorporated 3 different designs in the colors of his party.

The bottom tier was covered in chocolate ganache and had gold, white and burgundy rolled chocolate dots. The middle tier was frosted in vanilla buttercream and had burgundy and gold rolled chocolate diamonds. The top tier was frosted in burgundy vanilla buttercream and had brown rolled chocolate stripes, with gold shooting star coming out of the top.

Custom Sizing

Heather and Keith had a picture of a cake from a magazine that they wanted for their wedding. However, the cake in the picture would serve many more guests than they were expecting at their wedding, so we adapted the cake to a smaller size for them!

The cake had a double bottom tier and was covered in a light beige colored rolled chocolate covering. A simple double rolled chocolate band went around the bottom of each tier and the cake was finished with rolled chocolate leaves, ferns and acorns.

Lotus Branch

Corrie and Mark had their wedding reception at the Sherborn Inn and we created their wedding cake for them!
Their cake was frosted in vanilla buttercream frosting and featured our lotus branch design in chocolate buttercream. The cake was then accented with buttercream flowers in shades of eggplant.

Christmas Specials

Christmas is right around the corner, so today we're sharing all the information you need to place your Christmas order!

We will be closed Saturday the 25th, Sunday the 26th and Monday the 27th. All Christmas orders should be placed for pickup on Christmas Eve - Friday, December 24th - or earlier. We will be open shortened hours, from 9am-4pm, on that Friday the 24th. All orders for pickup on Friday, December 24th must be placed by Monday, December 20th to guarantee selection. However, there will also be a variety of items available in our retail store, for your last minute dessert needs.

Blue Man Group

Meaghan celebrated her 16th birthday with this custom, Blue Man Group inspired cake!


The tiered cake itself was frosted in vanilla buttercream that faded from dark blue to a lighter blue. The drums, men and custom 16 topper were all hand-sculpted out of rolled chocolate, and then the entire cake was spattered with brightly colored buttercream.

Bows & Dots

Cassie & Ewan celebrated their wedding at the Charles Hotel with a beautifully simple Dessert Works wedding cake!

Inside this beautiful cake was our delicious Fresh Strawberries & Cream cake flavor - our vanilla chiffon cake, layered with our light vanilla mousse and fresh sliced strawberries! On the outside, it was frosted in vanilla buttercream, and decorated with a white rolled chocolate band, swiss dot design, and 3 white rolled chocolate bows aligned to the front.
