This week, as part of our continuing staff profiles, we would like to introduce Emilee! Emilee is our resident expert on everything gluten free. If you need a recommendation for the best gluten free dessert, she's your girl!
Education: After completing her Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Emilee earned relevant work experience working in a bridal boutique, hotels, and country clubs in Florida before moving here 4 months ago and joining our team. Favorite Dessert Works item: Opera Torte! It's gluten free, of course! Favorite Part of the Job: "Seeing the transformation of the cakes from a design on paper to the real finished product!" While Emilee is our most recent hire, there's no shortage of talent for creating beautiful cakes! Here's an example of a cake Emilee worked with a customer on recently:
Here at Dessert Works, we take great pride in our hardworking staff. You can tell just by looking at some of our creations that we have an incredibly talented team in the kitchen who work hard to make your cakes possible! However, the staff that works in the front of the store also plays an important role in making your dessert dreams a reality, and in the last few months we've welcomed a new set of counter staff eager to work with you on your next order! Welcome (Back) Andrea!
Our first "new" staff member technically isn't new at all. She's a returning member! Andrea worked for us last year before she moved out of state. We were sad to see her go, but now that she is in town again, we're thrilled to have her back!
Education: Andrea has a Bachelors degree in Marketing and an Associates in Culinary Arts. She also has roughly 17 years of experience in the Hospitality industry. Favorite Dessert Works item: Mini Eclairs! YUM! Favorite part of the job: "I love the team I get to work with every day and being able to utilize my creativity to design the perfect cake for our customers' special occasions." In addition to her love for cooking and baking, Andrea also has a great knack for visualizing concepts for cakes, even if we've never done anything like it before!
